HB04-1008 Assignment of Auto Insurance Benefits

Concerning assignment of benefits under a motor vehicle insurance policy

Allows a person who sustains an injury in a motor vehicle accident to assign the payment of the covered benefit to a health care provider. Sets out requirements of the assignment. Allows the injured person to revoke the assignment. Specifies and insurer's ability to determine whether the claim is within the scope of coverage. Also specifies that an insurer may contract with managed care arrangements with the purpose of a medical payment coverage policy.

HB04-1026 Minimum offer of Medical Payments
Sponsors: Rep. Carroll

Concerning the minimum amount of medical payment coverage that may be offered by an auto insurer.

Requires insurers offering medical payment coverage for the purposes of motor vehicle insurance to offer coverage amounts of $10,000 and $25,000, as well as any other amount deemed appropriate by the insurer.
